Oofa!
Still no real subjects I'm willing to tackle yet on this blog. Stay tuned (I say to the zero followers I have so far); I'll sort it out.
Still cold in Brisbane - which still rocks.
I organised a ghost tour through this company: http://www.ghost-tours.com.au/ for a crowd of people at work, which we attended a few nights ago. We toured Toowong Cemetery, at night in the freeeeezing cold (freezing for Brisbane standards, anyway).
The name Toowong Cemetery is interchangeable with the name The Brisbane General Cemetery (which I think is the official title - but every Brisbanite --is that a word?-- knows it as Toowong Cemetery). It's enormous, over 200 acres according to wikipedia. At night-time, it's eerily beautiful. Stunning, in fact, as I have an odd fondness for such places. However, it wasn't scary. Not a jot. I enjoyed the walk, I enjoyed the stories and history the tiny little tour guide in her black faux-victorian garb told us. I never felt scared or haunted for a minute. Could have been all the giggling co-workers.
There was one hitch - we were there, all of us assembled (there were 19 nurses - and no small feat of organisation - we are on time for shifts and not much else), the last one to turn up only 10 minutes late - but I had negotiated with our 'gate-keeper' (each tour gets a tour guide and a gate-keeper) and all seemed okay to start a smidge late. So the last one arrived and I signalled to our gate-keeper (who had disappeared into the cemetery - past the wrought-iron gates we waited outside). He appeared - looking pensive - apparently the tour-guide we were meant to have had some "bad news" and had left. Long long story short - we were meant to begin the tour at 6.30pm; and it didn't start until 7.40pm. A smidge unprofessional, but the gate-keeper character and our replacement tour guide were great. I felt responsible for it all though - for making my co-workers stand around pointlessly for over an hour (one couple got there an hour early anyway, so two hours for them).
I have work in the morning - twelve hour shift. Woo (that be sarcasm). I need to clean this mess of a house for the babysitter. I really, really don't like cleaning. So on that note....
(because OF COURSE the world wants to know what I think... ... about everything!)

I can't commit to blogs.
I've started and deleted more than I can count. I'm determined to not delete this one - no matter how mundane it starts to become. Hopefully at some point I can inject some life into it.
A big fat cold snap has hit the eastern states of Australia. I'm not complaining, I love the cold. An interesting aside: years ago I was speaking with a Norwegian friend of mine (living in Australia) about the cold. I mentioned this cold must be nothing to him - as he comes from one of the coldest climates on the planet. No, he remarked, it's worse living here. Why? In cold climates, people heat their houses, cars, buses, businesses and shops. We get none of that - in his opinion, it is way, way worse here because one has to get out of bed to a freezing cold house. He's got a point.
Well, I'll enjoy it while it lasts...

Goodness!
I keep starting this blog, disliking my opening post and deleting it. I've changed the title many, many times. One of the biggest issues that leads me to that, I suppose, is that I just don't know what I want this blog to be. I enjoy writing, or more specifically typing my words out onto a blank page. So forgive the wandering nature of this blog as I try to figure out what I want from it.
